Chapter 1.5

Chapter 1.5 - Le Genie!

The Rakes decided to get themselves a cat. Meet the little bobtailed Cymoril! He is adorable and a bit of a piggy.

Yeah...that's a broken sink. Which is annoying, as they almost never use this sink. They have all decided that the sink in the bathroom is much much better for cleaning dishes. I decided to take out the bathroom sink, so they now use the kitchen one. And after the first use, it breaks...I just can't win...

Matilda went on a field trip to the mausoleum today...

She brought home a spooky poster, and a Genie Lamp! My first ever lamp. So excited. Charlotte thought so too. She is the only one who can use it, so I made her clean all the dirt off the Lamp to make it sparkly.

Say hello to Clint Hackett! He likes the colour Grey, like Matilda. Lobster Thermidor and Hip Hop. He also has seven traits. Flirty, and I have to cancel Charlotte's interactions with him as I don't want him and her to become love interests. He also has Loner, Excitable, Green Thumb and Coward. He has two hidden traits as well, Genie and Immune to Fire

Charlotte was given three wishes. She thought long and hard about what to choose, and she decided that she really only wanted one thing, and that was Happiness. After the loss of her Romeo and Great Uncle Ernest, she just wanted to be happy, even for just a moment. So, her wish was granted, and Charlotte will be happy until the day the Reaper comes for her...

After Charlotte's wish, Clint began talking with her, and the topic of his imprisonment in the lamp came up. He was cursed to give only three wishes, per sim, until the end of time. Charlotte, being the sweet lady she is, decided that Clint deserved better. She then went on a quest to set her new friend free! It started with placing the Lamp in the ice block cupboard. It boggled her mind, but hey, if it freed the trapped Genie, then what does it matter?

Next up was putting the lamp inside of a great fire. Charlotte couldn't burn the house down, and for some reason the wood fire oven didn't get hot enough, so she bought a very cheap stove, and placed the Lamp inside. Once she was done, she was shocked to find that the stove she had just bought had mysteriously disappeared, and the money she spent on it was back in her bank account. Maybe the Rakes have a ghost?...

After a lengthy trip inside the Mausoleum, where the lamp was found, Charlotte summoned the Genie, and freed him from his bonds! Unfortunately, she didn't quite think it through, so Clint was freed, with no money, no home and no job. But, that's ok, because Charlotte was happy for him to stay with her and her children...

Speaking of children...Gaston was STILL in his underpants. He was also spending a lot of autonomous time with Alessandra. I was quite taken with these two, and again, its getting even harder to choose the heir...

Bow chika wow wow!

Time for a birthday! Matilda, the Dinosaur, has now become a beautiful teenager! She rolled the Dislikes Children trait when she aged, so if she gets chosen, I am going to be so amused when I get her pregnant. I am also going to have her marry Clint! So, Genie babies she won't like should make for interesting story telling!

HELLO PRETTY KITTY!

Poor Charlotte. She is no longer as young as she was. She has a few more age lines, and I tell you, she still looks quite beautiful to me. I will be sad when she passes on. That's not to say I wasn't sad with Romeo, but, in all honesty, out of those two, I did prefer Charlotte...

Charlotte: I don't care WHAT kind of mood you are in, you do NOT put scary images up on the computer. I'm not as young as I used to be and if you give me a heart attack, I will come back from the afterlife and haunt you! NOW GO STAND IN THE CORNER AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE DONE! And put some clothes on!
Gaston: *grumble grumble*

I bet she won't notice when I put a whoopee cushion on the couch after this...

Wrong again Gaston!

Gaston was in a mood, as most teenagers are at some point, and would not stop pulling pranks, and he got caught, every single time. It was quite amusing. He just kept going to the couch and the computer. He was a very naughty boy!

All of this free time was quite new to Clint, so he spent it the best way he could...by shaking his tooshie at the sprinkler. It was so cute. I am will have to download a mod that allows autonomous gardening, just because his Green Thumb trait will probably go to waste otherwise...

So ends this chapter. Charlotte treated her daughter to some driving lessons. Matilda had been a very good child. Did her homework when she got home, cleaned her dishes, never pulled any pranks, and it transferred over when she became a Teen. So, hopefully Matilda will set an example for her unruly brother.

Chapter 1.4

Chapter 1.4 - Back to the Roots...

Authors Note: I know I said that I would be moving the Rakes to Isla Paradiso, but that particular world is extremely laggy for me. I removed all my mods, and still having some issues, specifically when I put my cursor on the walls/rotate camera using the mouse button, and it will freeze up for about 10 - 15 seconds. I think it might possibly be because of Master Controller, but I removed that, deleted my cache and it didn't fix it. So I dunno. I do have all current expansions, store content and stuff packs so perhaps its because of that?

Anyway, on with the story!

Charlotte's family, while still French in origin, has some extended family living in Tuscany. The day after Romeo passed away, while Charlotte's heart still stung from the loss of her beloved, her Great Aunt Beatrice called her. Unfortunately her Great Uncle Ernest had suffered a freak, and fatal, Nectar Accident. Charlotte, her mind shocked with the revelation of losing another family member, only caught a few words. Her Great Uncle Ernest had somehow fallen over when he was crushing grapes, and drowned in the juice. She barely even noticed when her Aunt said she would be moving to France to live with Charlotte's Aunt Elise. The house, in Monte Vista, was now hers.

So, after a few days of grieving, Charlotte picked up her children and her things, and used the last of her savings to fly from Twinbrook to Monte Vista. It was a nice home, with enough space for all two children. But, it was a little bare. The children did not approve of the black and white TV and the very old computer...

After the unpacking had been finished, Charlotte began taking care of the garden, and feeding the Chickens. It was a quiet place. A sweet place. She felt calmer already, and with Romeo's remains nestled in the garden, her grief lessened.

The first night was a bit scary, but because they were all so tired, it wasn't long before everyone had finally settled and gone to sleep.

Her Great Uncle Ernest must have been afraid of the technology because he did not have stove, or even a fridge. He had a cupboard that relied on ice blocks and an old wood fire oven. Charlotte, having never used one before, cooked a calzone for breakfast, and was instantly a pro!

While breakfast was getting ready, our unlikely Prince had departed from his crown...and become a pink dinosaur.

I am the most ferocious of all the dino's...Also, the most fabulous.

I can't really blame him. I think he looks adorable. It's going to be so difficult to choose the heir. After breakfast, the children went off to school. I do hope they make some friends, because they certainly weren't getting along with each other. Shame really.
Gaston doesn't like Matilda's new hair.

Birthday Time! I've no idea what he wished for, but I would love to think he wished for money...I went a little crazy building a basement for the house, and so the Rakes were quite poor...

Well, aren't you a handsome Sim. Gaston had raided one of the boxes in the basement and found some of his fathers old clothes. It seemed fitting really...Unfortunately, Mohawks are quite high maintenance, so Charlotte shaved his head. She did a great job too..

The next morning, Gaston decided he no longer liked wearing clothes and for the next few sim days, whenever I checked to see what he was doing, he was always in his tightie whities. He was definitely putting his inappropriate trait to work as he always trolled on the forums. It made him quite gleeful.
Oh, he also rolled the Perceptive trait when he became a Teen. I haven't decided on an heir, but if I choose Gaston, then I will play the PI Career. Something I've not done since the release of Ambitions.

Awww, we had a visit from Romeo last night, his first visit since his "untimely" death. Though, it would have been more romantic if he had given flowers to Charlotte, instead of haunting the flower pots...

The next morning, Gaston decided that the plates from dinner the night before, that had been out all night, were far more tasty than the Country Bread his mother had baked for him. Way to go Gaston, you lick those plates! But don't complain if you get sick!

After that, he went to feed the chickens.

And he decided it would perfectly acceptable to start insulting the rooster...

...it did not end well for him. But, on the plus side, the Rakes now have itty bitty little baby chickies to play with. They're so adorable. It makes me wish that I too, had delightful little yellow fluffy things.

Whose the cutest little chicken ever? You are! Yes you are! You're just so adorable! I'm going to love you and squish you and call you Chuckles!

Unfortunately, due to the low funds issue, the Rakes were visited by this barrel of sunshine. I quickly emptied the Nectar racks, so we didn't lose any of the precious Nectar, especially the bottle that Great Uncle Ernest died making!

And don't come back! Ya hear!? Curse those Repo sims. They're so heartless. Not caring about the grief a sim goes through when they've lost someone. Poor Charlotte. She had a negative moodlet for the next 24 hours.

Gaston brought home Alessandra Giordano from school that day... This will be Gaston's spouse whether he ends up heir or not. I think she looks quite lovely. She is a pre-made sim from Monte Vista. View her traits and things here.

That ends this chapter. I am hoping to be a bit more regular with updates. I am already lagging way behind. My apologies...Also, just a little note, in the move, the photo's of Gaston and Charlotte became grey, which really annoyed me because the one with them together was really cute. So I will remove the photo points for this generation...

Chapter 1.3

Chapter 1.3 - Unfortunates

This will be a short chapter, mostly because I want to get the family speeding along on their journey.
If you haven't noticed already, something is a little off with Romeo. He's had an intense feeling of dread for quite some time. It was steadily getting worse, and although Romeo was happy, he couldn't shake the niggling feeling he wouldn't be around to see his children grow up.

After spending the previous day, cleaning and fixing, Romeo decided to take his family out to the Spring Fesitval. It was Love Day, and he wanted to show the ones he cared about most a cracking good time!

The Love Tester gave Charlotte and Romeo a good rating, it wasn't great, and it wasn't not good, so they were quite pleased. The children opted for running around and dancing, and after awhile, Charlotte and Romeo headed over and began to dance together romantically.

Aren't the adorable? I know Romeo only has eyes for Charlotte, after the many years of lusting after all the single ladies, it was a good thing for him to finally settle down. Tis a shame it didn't last very long, but when you desecrate graves for a living, you need rack up some serious bad karma.

After a little while, the family headed home and celebrated the birthdays of Matilda, and Romeo.

This time, there didn't happen to be an exploding cake. I did only do one birthday at a time just in-case.
Matilda is first, and she rolls the Loser trait, to go with Couch Potato like her mummy and Artistic. I apparently hadn't mentioned her traits in the previous chapter. Oops. Matilda enjoys Classical Music, Ceviche and the colour Grey. She also managed to snag her mothers French Culture trait. Yay. I was hoping at least one of the children would get it. I'm hoping I can keep the trait alive through the generations. Gaston also rolled Inappropriate to go with his Slob and Grumpy Trait.

Both the kids have their daddy's Gene's. It will be quite interesting to see how they look when they have grown into their facial features by Young Adult stage.

I think that dress is just adorable!

Time for Daddy's birthday. He doesn't look much different in this picture, just a few extra wrinkles, which he hides well. That kid is Matilda before her makeover!

The dreaded feeling was getting worse, so Romeo decided to spend some more time with his family. First, a little canoodling with his dear wifey.

And canoodling happened to end up where it always ends up...

No baby chimes!

Quick shot of his new Blue Belt. He wanted to practise, so I let him. He needed a little extra happy time.

First time the family had ever sat down and eaten together. It was a boisterous affair, even though the quality of the meal wasn't great, but they all enjoyed it, and there were some extra friendship points gathered.

Romeo read Gaston a book about being Handy around the home. I found it to be quite cute. He was also about to read Matilda a story...but that foreboding feeling got worse and poor poor Romeo was no longer...

Yep. Mummy's curse. I purposely didn't cure him as 1, didn't have the funds to go to Egypt again, and 2, it makes for much better storytelling, and lastly, I wanted to control Charlotte... Don't judge me! I am a weak Watcher!

Charlotte, poor thing, she was quite upset. But, before I took over her completely, she decided to clean up her late husband...

Before going down into the basement and mourning her beloved after I plopped him down there.

She then proceeded to fall asleep using Romeo's sleeping bag that was transferred to her. Sleeping beside what remained of her dearest was quite sweet I thought...

So, that ends this chapter. Next time the family will be making it's way to a new town. I want to take full advantage of Isla Paradiso. And because Charlotte is broke, well, will be broke when they move, I thought it would be a much nicer place to live than where they live now...
